Jacaranda Love
Oh Jacaranda, Jacaranda, Each year it's the same, With winter giving way to spring, You start your flirty game. You tease me with just a few Of your winking purple buds And leave me wanting more of you As your scent my senses floods. You parade yourself so proudly As you open up your blooms Declaring your great love for me In a display of purple hues. You lay down a lilac carpet So I can nestle at your feet Oh Jacaranda, Jacaranda Your gaze remains a treat. I don't know why you do it, But just as quickly as you come, You cloak yourself in bashfulness And leave me feeling glum. Your flirting leaves me giddy But your shade will always be An ever-present love In our Jacaranda city.
