This is the second year that we decided to end of Heritage Week with a Sunday picnic & music in the garden.  Thank you to everyone that joined us, I really hope you had a wonderful day and somehow experienced the spirit of South Africa with me.

A special thank you the the Radio Kalahari Orkes for once again joining us and spoiling us with your amazing talents.

  For me, most of life begins and ends with the celebration of food. These days I must say, adding the odd gin and tonic, or exploring an old vintage cocktail, or a precisely paired wine with the mood of the affair adds a certain depth to most of the celebrations, but nothing, nothing gets past the food…!

Another lovely cocktail recipe for the winter!

Just cold enough to enjoy on a Winter's afternoon, but not too cold.

Ingredients:

1 tot Tequila (Good quality!)

1 tot Cointreau Liqueur

1/2 tot lime cordial

1 tot lemon syrup

4 block of ice

mix together in a shaker very well for at least 2 minutes 

the ingredients must be ice cold and slightly diluted by the ice

run a wedge of lemon around the rim of the glass

turn upside down onto a plate of salt 

make sure the rim gets well salted

Lemon Syrup:

1/3 cup lemon...

the daylight has been sleeping a little bit later every morning it seems…
