Afro-Boer baker’s café has been open since August 2013.  It has won multiple prestigious awards with Eat-Out, Best of Pretoria,  Diners Club Wine Awards, and TripAdvisor Service Excellence Awards.  It has been named one of the top 20 Iconic South African restaurants by  Eat-Out Magazine and has featured in Food and Home, Sarie Kos Magazine,  on MNet’s Kyknet Via T.V. channel, Pretoria News, and the Sunday Times Newspaper.

 

Michelle Cronjé-Cibulka drives her team - of mostly raw novices  and newcomers to the industry - with the help of her right-hand Operations Manager  Giselle van As, and shapes them into skilled managers, baristas, chefs, bakers and waiters,  by mostly, teaching industry and life skills and providing opportunity to learn self-empowerment  and how to make a difference in households and communities.

 

Afro-Boer follows a food philosophy of farm-to-plate, self-harvesting,  Slow Food - preserving and recognizing heritage in all African and South African food cultures -  and incorporates a style of home-made, hand-made and wholesome foods. We believe in supporting local and surrounding farmers, and fellow small business owners.
